JEWELRY AUTHENTICATION
1) We verify the authenticity of the stones and metals
We first look for unique identifiers such as the karat stamp (14kt, 18kt, etc) and the engraved brand name. This tells us immediately whether the item is counterfeit or not. We use equipment to verify the type of metal and the number of carats, ensuring that they correspond to the type of metal and carats indicated on the stamp. Then, we examine the stones with various tests to see if the stones are genuine. For example, if the item has diamonds we use a synthetic diamond testing tool to make sure it is a real diamond, and then we analyze the stone for its original color as well.
2) We check if there are any identifying marks of authenticity
We are looking for branded engravings, all serial numbers and other key identifiers. We check the documentation relating to the item and related accompanied boxes if present. We reject items that do not meet these authenticity requirements.
3) We evaluate the state of conservation of the object
We examine the state of wear, guaranteeing the sale only if high quality standards are respected in the state of conservation of the object.
WATCH AUTHENTICATION
1) We look for identifiers of quality and authenticity
Such as markings, drawings, engravings and holograms to assess whether any anomalous identifiers are present, otherwise we discard watches that do not meet the originality criteria.
2) We check the movement of the watch
Many times we must check the gears, jewels, and internal mechanisms of the watch so that the movement, engravings, and type of metal can be inspected to ensure authenticity.
3) We check the originality of the spare parts
We check that all parts of the watch are consistent with the original model.
4) We check the state of wear and conservation
We check the wear of the case, dial, hands, strap and buckle to ensure that everything is consistent. If not, usually something has been changed so we cannot put the item up for sale.
5) We search and check the original documentation
We check for the presence of certifications, box, and related papers and accompanying certifications. We examine these documents to evaluate their authenticity.
